9/14/2006 Class Discussion

Today in class we had a great discussion about how much audience participation should be included in this production and through what medium this interaction should occur. A few students had some reserve about including audience participation. The students that had reservations felt audience participation might actually discourage attendance.

9/15/2006 Creative Meeting Discussion Summary

There were two main topics we discussed on Friday's creative planning meeting. First, We informed George of Thursday's discussion about audience interaction. He had a strong interest in the idea of providing more of the story through mobile phone messaging systems. Basically, audience members could provide their mobile numbers to us upon entering the theater.

pic This is the first initial design for the project's branding. It represents the collaboration of the Multimedia and Theater departments.

pic This is the second of the initial branding designs. It was created in the image of the "zero" theme based on the main character of the play

pic Ryan and Max are seen here being shot in a compositing excercise. This was a sample video shot in order to test the projectors and the display capabilities of Isadora software package.

pic This floating head test is a very basic test for the floating head effect that wil be featured in the graveyard scene when the head flys out of one of the graves and flys around zero. The moving image will be projected to appear to be flying around the actor on the stage.

pic This floating skeletons test is another test of our ability to create an animation that will interact with the actors on the stage in the graveyard scene. This test also is in a very early stage.

pic This animation is an early example of a possible scenery or backdrop for the cemetery scene. It features some simple examples of our 3-D animation capabilities. This movies native resolution is very high in order to stretch the length of the stage through the use of multiple projectors.
